The dance of the brush is an intensive retreat focused on creativity and inner understanding of ourselves. Through the powerful tools of sumi-e (black ink painting) and zazen (zen meditation), we will understand the roots of the zen tradition.

Beppe Mokuza Signoritti will lead the retreat. Zen monk and Sumi-e master painter, he follows the Soto Zen tradition and he is a direct disciple of Master Roland Yuno Rech. He has been dedicating himself to sumi-e and zazen for over twenty years and he is responsible for the Bodai Dojo, Zen center in Alba, Italy.

Program
6th June: 18:00 conference and performance*;
19:30 dinner.
7th June: 7:30 zazen; 9:00 genmai (Japanese breakfast), coffee;
10:00/12:30 sumi-e (with tea break in between);
13:00 lunch;
15:00/17:30 sumi-e (with tea break in between);
18:00 dinner; 19:00 zazen.
8th June: 7:30 zazen; 9:00 genmai(Japanese breakfast), coffee;
10:00/12:30 sumi-e (with tea break in between);
13:00 lunch;
14:30/17:00 sumi-e (with tea break in between);
17:30 zazen 19:00 greetings buffet.

During the retreat you will enjoy Japanese and international recipes prepared with vegetarian and
biologic ingredients. The meals will be prepared and served in the traditional way, accompanied by sutras.

Practical information

Cost € 170 inclusive of:
- sumi-e workshop including materials
- zazen meditation;
- all biologic meals and coffee/tea breaks.
